Lady Gaga may be able to keep a poker face, but her engagement to longtime boyfriend Taylor Kinney has been made public.
The 28-year-old "Bad Romance" singer had been showing off her
engagement ring to family on Valentine's Day at her father's Upper West
Side Manhattan restaurant when the celebration was spied by another
customer — who happens to work in the media.
"I heard the singer say 'it was time' as she flashed the ring around," recounted Times Herald-Record executive editor Barry Lewis, who was eating in the restaurant at the time.
"Gaga and Kinney were accompanied by two massive bodyguards, one
located by Gaga, the other near the entrance to the main dining room,"
Lewis added. "Her father, Joe Germanotta, who owns the restaurant with
chef and author Art Smith, popped open a bottle of champagne to toast
the couple and welcome Kinney into the family."
When Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, was
photographed Monday in Midtown Manhattan she shielded her hand.
However she proudly showed off her new bauble on Instagram Monday afternoon.
"He gave me his heart and Valentine's Day, and I said YES!" the singer captioned an Instagram photo of her ring finger adorned with a massive heart-shaped engagement ring.

The singer has been dating Kinney, 33, an actor on "Chicago Fire," for four years.
It's not exactly a shocking development, since Gaga told Howard Stern in December she would say "yes" if Kinney ever proposed.
"He is the right guy," Gaga told Stern. "I just know it."
